The Black Crowes Warpaint

@filini: "enthusiastic reviews"?! Well, maybe because of the vote; but I guarantee you that this guy almost moved me with his honesty and genuinely retro attitude.. Not like that phony Jack White who wants to clone garage rock from the late '60s to early '70s. This "Warpaint" is not mere reproduction, rather a strong spiritual affinity with classics like Allman Brothers Band or Lynyrd. It doesn't sound like a work from that era, it really feels produced in '73. Maybe at the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio.

I don't understand the usefulness of certain ladies who go straight from the hairdresser to recording a record.

Listen-able, but far from its best episodes.

Useless, lately it's been embarrassing.

Great film, a sort of modern western. And great review, perhaps the best on No Country for Old Men.

Great Black Crowes!! I downloaded it, great album. You have to be sick or blind to give it two stars. It's simply fantastic, the description of the album then, magazines like "Blow Up" or "Rumore" (which I often buy) can only dream of it lately... Great Blackdog, from what I've read on the site, one of the best reviewers, definitely original and with a recognizable style.

Oh, Brian, what the hell, I've been looking for you in vain for years and then I find you playing the keyboards on those posh Coldplay albums - and then I'm forced to call that idiot Tony to produce that fart of 'Reality'... At least you could have given me a hand, but instead you didn't even call me in the clinic, you traitor! You’ve always been producing those crappy YouTube things and you don’t even pay attention to me, you brain-dead fool: now you’re also hanging out with that witch Mick... this time, at Christmas, no panettone and sparkling wine, take that! P.S. Dear Mario, my respects and warm greetings, congratulations for your last movie 'A rose in the desert' very, very nice - you're still a great man at 90 years old, ciao toscanaccio!

"In regard to the women's debate, I don't know, maybe it's old age or perhaps I'm gradually becoming a proper bourgeois lately; whenever I look at a man, I always wonder if he, like my partner, would be able to defrost the cube in the microwave in seven minutes if I'm late coming home from work without making it a big deal, and no one compares.... least of all the aforementioned. If I really have to choose a quirky one, I'd prefer the singer from Xiu Xiu...." Cleo, I'm sorry, but I really didn't understand this sentence. Does it have something to do with the Pattonian debate, perhaps?

My favorite by Depeche Mode. Great review, but in the end, you wrote something that really annoyed me: <<an album that has its only flaw in a few slight drops in tone ("Get Right With Me," "Judas," or the sugary "One Caress") without which it would undoubtedly have been a gem of the '90s>>. What are you talking about?!? "One Caress" is stunning, "Judas" gives you chills, and I find "Get Right With Me" very inviting. It's all a matter of taste... The video for "Walking in My Shoes" is a work of art, twilight, medieval, evocative. How great!
