Even though it is completely different in terms of content and meaning, the basic idea seems too similar to Miller's "Guardato A Vista": a person of some significance spending the night in a police station, the only almost theatrical place in the entire film, the rain, the phone call that never comes, the assistant typing, a healthy dose of beatings...but in the end it doesn't ruin the beauty of this film.
