As you well know: I've already told you what I think about duplicates, and I’m surprised that after this you still receive a four. Probably just because they know you’re not a fake. You’re not saying ANYTHING new compared to those who have written before. Moreover, all these references to the VU, in my opinion, are pointless. That record is fundamental for the Suicide just like for many others (the Modern Lovers most of all, even though they aren’t as sick as these two). I’m not saying there aren’t influences, but I think you’ve overdone it. For example: how can you not talk about the influence of rock 'n' roll from the '50s and '60s in an analysis like this, which is supposed to be purely objective?! You say things that EVERYONE who knows them already knows! Maybe you had already sent it, and our chat from last time was later, but I repeat: change your attitude. In the first review of this album, there was passion. Instead, you are so cerebral in your reflective considerations about the work, as if it were a homework assignment. Don’t take it personally, but I really don’t like it. If it weren’t a duplicate, it would be 2.5, maybe three at best. But you haven’t even filled a gap. Considering finally that the Suicide are among my absolute favorite bands (more than the VU), for me it just doesn’t work. One piece of advice: read fewer prominent critics (who are only capable of masturbating themselves from morning till night in front of the mirror) and make your listening more YOURS.
