Sorry, but I've never been able to stand them. For the review 5, even though I haven't (yet) read it.

I finally saw it. For me, it’s a solid 5! I liked it even more than Bronson. "Drive is a movie with fuchsia opening credits..." Well, it’s worth mentioning. For me, that alone accounts for half a star in the film.

In the end, I saw it. Great film, there’s no denying it. I really appreciate when a movie heavily relies on the acting skills of its cast, provided there’s strong psychological tension to compensate for the thinness of the plot.

Despite the fact that the aesthetics are, as nes says, impeccable, there are some scenes that seemed "too much" to me, in the sense that they went beyond the sensations that I believe were meant to be conveyed. From the perspective of the dialogues, however, I disagree with the majority. Both this and, especially, La Grande Bellezza, I found inspired by Antonioni's cinema (which I obviously appreciate much more: La Notte is one of the most beautiful films I believe I have seen in my life) and the combination with his unique style pleases me quite a lot. I don't vote because I need to evaluate it carefully in hindsight, but I am not inclined to quickly assign a "false depth" to the dialogues. In some ways, I even find them functional to the arrival. What I liked about this is that I felt it was a bit more "free," even compared to La Grande Bellezza. It’s as if to say: after the Oscar, I can do whatever the hell I want. And that doesn’t bother me.

I've also taken a look at the rest. I find there's something unsettling about it. This comes easily, but I’m mainly referring to the other examples of his works that Google Images provides me. Hasn't anyone else had the same feeling?

Premise: I haven't watched a cartoon since just before my adolescence, so discussions about Pixar in general (I'm stuck right after Toy Story) are beyond me and don't interest me. That said, I just finished watching it in the cinema. Very interesting review. In particular, the point "It's not that it's not a children's movie; it's that basically a child shouldn't even want to see a movie like this, so why try so hard to meet their expectations?" makes me reflect on the social changes that have occurred between the time I was a child and today. Now (but even like 6 years ago) when observing certain children and teenagers interested in things that at their age I wouldn't have even considered, especially with a nice box of Legos or Unreal Tournament in front of them. It may be a trivial discussion, but somehow this observation makes me think that today's kids would understand this quite easily (I can't answer "do they want to see it?" also because I don't face these kinds of problems daily and I am neither a parent nor an uncle). I really enjoyed the film (the "amarcord" ball is a brilliant touch for me) and it left me somewhat speechless, because the courage that you say is lacking is something I actually saw. It makes me wonder: "What will happen to animation FOR children at this point?!" and until today I thought that the answer to such a question could interest me as much as bell peppers. And I hate bell peppers!
