I started listening to something immediately, driven by curiosity, and I must say that the comparisons to Blade Runner and Vaporwave somewhat misled me, both in terms of musical imagery and in the approach to the sound material itself. I don't find the sound to be that futuristic, nor the atmosphere it evokes. Instead, I sense a decidedly romantic touch, which connects well to the self-definition you mention at the end. I don't think it's stuff for me, even though it seemed that way from your description.
