Jovanotti Jovanotti For President

About Caparezza, there's a review... ;) Jovanotti gets on my nerves, even though I admit I listened to him back in the day. I never bought anything, but he's among my "youthful mistakes." The guy, rather than innovating, has always had a knack for sensing and evolving by leveraging other people's innovations and ideas: it started with the idea of making rap music, then making rap in Italian (the posse were already there), then the "conscious" rap (same), and finally the subsequent choice to make "played" rap (like Penso Positivo - on the wave of groups like Urban Dance Squad and their Life'n Perspectives Of A Genuine Crossover). But come on, cheesy beats, mind-boggling lyrics, let's not get carried away with the praises... and that pronunciation defect... come on, guys, what a story! Thumbs down.

On the record, next to the Drums label is written Laurence Tolhurst. It's tragic, when you think about it, that the rhythmic part instead seems to be entrusted to a drum machine. The electronic sound is too cold, especially alongside the keyboards and guitars. However, over time, you get used to it to the point that it's fine that way. Of course, A Forest is immensely more beautiful on Concert - The Cure Live, when it starts with the "real" drums TUM-PA-TUM-PA... it's a whole different thing. A great piece, without a doubt, with its again and again (21x)... the perfect soundtrack for troubled adolescence, and even for later. Best Cure song? This calls for a forum. I would have quite a few nominations, but I couldn't settle on any at the moment. @Cleo: Shame! Buy it IMMEDIATELY in double copy to atone! ;-)
Liars They Were Wrong, So We Drowned

I am one of those who downloaded it from their site, where it was available for download some time ago. It might have been a moment when I wasn't particularly receptive to albums of this kind, but I couldn't listen to it for long; it left me a bit perplexed... maybe I was wrong, but for now, I don't feel like picking it up again. It's a matter of feeling; sometimes, you just click with certain albums – and this one didn't click with me. I won't rate it because I don't have a definite idea of it yet (and not even a clear one). I agree on the bad trip, though. Bye.

Maybe it’s a bullshit, Hal, but the keyboard part from Davis's record that I mentioned earlier resembles (if it’s not a sample taken directly from there) the keyboard part you hear at the beginning of "Faccio La Mia Cosa" by Frankie Hi NRG MC. If you listen to it, you should understand what I mean. Here perhaps the omniscience of ..caz.. in the HH realm (and not only in that musical context) could help. Thanks anyway for your interest, Hal. Bye.

I agree with the ghost... thanks, Hal. I've been searching for a Davis record for ages, I don't know if this is the one: I remember a very long track with sparse keyboard accompaniment, the rhythm is a toc-toc almost like a metronome, the trumpet is "hypnotic." Does that ring a bell? If so, could you tell me which record it is? I've had the chance to listen to it many times but I've never looked into the title. Bye.

I understand you, Cleo, I worked for 8 months with a jerk who monopolized the CD-ROM, having the speakers to himself... he bombarded me with 50 Cent and the Eternal, impossible to make him listen to anything else. Oh, no, he also listened to Sean Paul, no kidding! During that time, I even learned to curse in Turkish, like Pentecost.

Letta, you convinced me janis... Bjork's Homogenic really captivated me, and it wore out after countless listens. I'll get this one too, even if first I’ll follow caz's advice (which is never wrong!). The rating from the previous wrong comment was right.
