Released in 2007 (gosh, it's already been 5 years, how time flies), it's the fifth studio album by Dannii Minogue, but it was only released for download worldwide, while in Australia it came out in physical format with a bonus CD of remixes.
Club Disco includes some tracks from Dannii Minogue's first Greatest Hits, The Hits & Beyond, released in 2006.
After the success of Neon Nights in 2003, Dannii had lost her artistic path, also due to the fact that she is not only a singer but also an actress, model, TV presenter, creative designer and recently a mother; however, it's thanks to Club Disco that she managed, partially, to get back on track. Thanks to this project she solidified her work with the world's most well-known professional DJs (afterlife, power flower, soulseekers, roger sanchez, j.c.a) and continues her rise as the Queen of Clubs!
"Feel like I do" is the first to kick off the party, even though it was part of a b-side of the Greatest Hits project for the single "So Under Pressure" from 2006, but it's perfect and beloved by fans! "Perfection" and "You Won't Forget About Me" are recent singles but here they are included in extended versions to make us dance more. "Love Fight", "I Am Sorry", "Gone" are also part of the previous project but who cares, they are wonderful... they recall the 80s and electro dance. "So Under Pressure", "Good Times", "Sunrise", "He's the Greatest Dancer", are not new, in fact the last one is a cover of the 80s Sisters Sledge! Even "I Can't Sleep at Night" is taken from the greatest hits, but "I Will Come to You" is the first unreleased track of the project along with "Round the World", both very electronic pop-dance. "Do You Believe Me Now" is another new track produced by Roger Sanchez, they couldn't wait to release it, it's fantastic. The semi-album concludes with "Xanadu", a cover of Olivia Newton-John in a chill-out version and two remixes of other tracks.
It's a shame that there weren't any singles released from this semi-project, which really seems like a part 2 of the Greatest Hits, The Hits & Beyond, however, the class of some tracks and the determination in finding dancefloor hits are all positive characteristics. For the next album, Dannii, you need to do better! We are awaiting the true successor of Neon Nights from 2003; it's been almost 10 years, can you do it?
