Ettore Petrolini, a great character actor of the Roman tradition, on his deathbed, seeing the priest with the holy oil, exclaimed: "Mò si che sò fritto!", and this is the atmosphere you feel when listening to the "ARDECORE" project, art from café-chantant. But what is the connection between Petrolini and Geoff Farina...? Perhaps the 2002 tour with the BAND ZU or his Abruzzo origins? And what is the result? A splendid album... with the voice of Gianpaolo Felici, the guitar embroidery of Geoff Farina, and the collaborations of Luca Venitucci (accordion) and Valerio Borgianelli (vibraphone).
Roman stornelli (some over 300 years old) rearranged in an excellent and refined manner. Personally, I greatly appreciated "Lupo de fiume" "Madonna dell'Angeli" "L'eco der core" and "Fiore de goiventù," but the album never spins aimlessly. So, thanks to Ardecore for introducing people like me to the Roman tradition that other TV "artists" had sunk in the past, but above all thanks because Ardecore is a three-dimensional album that immerses you fully in the riverside atmospheres, sad and tragic but full of profound poetry that touches the heart... and you will find it difficult to remove the CD from the player... "Come te posso non amà?"...
Miracle.
