THE REVIEW

Amos Lee is a sweet discovery, like the scent of the first spring blooms.
He comes from Philadelphia and legend has it that he left his job as an elementary school teacher to follow the call of music. He debuts with this album of eleven mid-tempo tracks composed on the folk guitar, and he has the great ability to write perfect folk singer-songwriter ballads that flow in his veins like vital fluid. In his voice, you can catch the delicacy and that typical dark vibration of someone who knows how to convey emotions by narrating his stories.
Anyone who admires Norah Jones will also be captivated by this small artist, able to transmit the same calm and tranquility as the beautiful artist, who incidentally also guests on two songs (Seen It All Before and Colors). His music is halfway between the acoustic idealism of Jack Johnson and the soulful smoothness of Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding, the groove of Bill Withers, and the notes of Van Morrison. Amos has succeeded in writing a very pleasant album that can be listened to over and over again in a discreet manner, rediscovering the sweetness of his notes with each new listen.

Do not expect noisy, crowd-pleasing singles on the album, which is why Amos is destined to appeal only to the most discerning.
Give him a bit of trust and he will know how to reciprocate with eleven caresses. To the usual few but good ones.
